Get to know Chris "Spanky" Moore

Chris Moore, a lifelong resident of Sumter, has been involved in the digital realm for nearly a decade. In Nov. 2001 he began his career with The Item newspaper where he was a staff photographer until the summer of 2008. He was promoted and given the newly created position of Digital Editor & Assistant Content Team Leader. Over the next year he assisted The Item’s New Media department in building their multimedia section for www.theitem.com as well as plugging into social media and networking for the newspaper.

In August of 2009 Chris made a move into Public Relations at Tuomey Healthcare System where he is an Interactive Media Specialist. He is responsible for updating Tuomey’s website, creating multimedia projects, is the chief photographer for their quarterly magazine, LifeTimes and photographs the various events and functions throughout the year. He also promotes what Tuomey is doing on a regular basis via social media outlets Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and Issuu.

Chris is married to Kyndal Mullen Moore and they have three children, Kaytlin Denise, 7, and 2 ½ year-old-twin boys, William Chandler and Caleb Michael. They attend Alice Drive Baptist Church.

He and his wife are co-owners with Chris’ parents of Moore & More … gifts galore! and Palmetto Photography – making him the fifth generation of his family to own a business in Sumter.

Chris is the founder of the Sumter Digital Camera Club and Palmetto Shutterbugs, a statewide photography network. He is also an active member of the Shaw-Sumter Computer Club. When he is not working or taking pictures Chris enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with this father-in-law and friends.
